Sterling Plumpp has
published many books of poetry, including Hornman, Ornate with Smoke,
and Mojo Hands Call I Must Go, which won the Carl Sandburg Literary Prize
for Poetry in 1993. He has been a professor in the Department of African-American
Studies and English at the University of Illinois at Chicago since 1971.
