my lungs are seared by the smoke of burning buildings and burning flesh. my hope is disfigured by political backlash. assaulted, not protected, by "the war on terrorism". the president says all must choose sides. perhaps a terrorist is one who is on another side. violence passed across from person to person, from government to government, from corporation to corporation. violence passed down through generations. a rise in the stock prices of cutting edge surveillance manufacturers. whatever it is, i'm against it. fredonia's going to war. evasive manoeuvers. jokes to circumnavigate. loose words -- the antidote that emerges.
